Salt I

$250.00

30cm x 30cm

Acrylic and mixed media on board ready to hang.

Salt I
A tangle of bleached limbs lies half-submerged in a salt lake’s silvery skin. There’s a stillness in this sparse, liminal space—a quiet echo of time etched into weathered wood and pale reflections. The scene hovers between memory and landscape, where traces of life persist in skeletal form.

In this painting I employed a layered mixed-media approach to create depth and texture. I used acrylic paint as the foundational medium, building on older acrylic works to add complexity. Oil sticks, charcoal, and pencil brought expressive linework and tonal variation. I applied the media using a variety of tools, including silicone wedges, palette knives, brushes, and rags, to achieve both precise and spontaneous marks. The result is a dynamic interplay of texture, color, and form, evoking the natural chaos and calm of the landscape.

Every care has been taken to show the artwork as accurately as possible with regard to size and colour. The image you see on line may show a difference due to variation between browsers, devices and screen settings.
