Frequently Asked Questions

By Diana Neggo – Contemporary Australian Artist

What kind of art do you create?

I paint in a style that ranges from abstract to semi-abstract, often drawing from the natural world—particularly the land, sea, and skies of Western Australia. My work explores texture, atmosphere, and emotion through earthy tones like ochre, warm reds, and coastal greys. Some paintings are more gestural and expressive, while others are quieter and layered with subtle shifts of light and form.

What inspires your work?

Much of my work is grounded in a deep emotional response to landscape. I paint to make sense of the world—its beauty, its wounds, and our place within it. Walking, observing, and listening to the rhythms of nature—especially around the Ferguson Valley and coastlines like Rottnest Island—informs both the themes and mood of my work. I’m also drawn to the quiet tension between fragility and resilience in the land.

Do you sell your original paintings?

Yes. Most of my original works are available for purchase unless marked as sold. You can contact me directly for availability, prices, or to arrange a studio visit.

Do you take commissions?

I rarely take commissions, as I prefer people to choose from the work that naturally evolves in my studio. If you're drawn to a particular style or series, I’m always happy to help you find something available—or let you know when similar works are coming up.

Can I view your work in person?

I regularly exhibit in group and solo shows, and participate in Open Studios events. You can check my News page for upcoming opportunities to view my work.

I warmly invite studio visits in the Ferguson Valley and these can be arranged by appointment.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, I can ship artworks both within Australia and overseas. Shipping costs will vary depending on size, destination, and framing. Please get in touch for a quote.

Are your paintings framed?

Some works are framed, and others are sold unframed with finished edges and ready to hang. Framing options can usually be arranged on request.

What medium do you use?

I work primarily in acrylics and mixed media on canvas or board. Texture, layering, and colour are central to my process.

Can I use your artwork for a project, publication, or product?

Please contact me for any licensing requests or image use permissions. All artworks and images are copyright protected.
