50×120cm

Acrylic and mixed media on wooden board.

This diptych was inspired by my time camping at Wooleen Station, along the dry bed of the Murchison River. The earth there feels ancient — parched yet alive — as kangaroos dig for hidden water and the trees stand patient beneath soft pink and violet skies. I wanted to capture that quiet endurance, the stillness of a landscape waiting for the first rains to return.

As an artist, I typically prefer not to explain my work, believing that art should speak for itself and allow viewers to interpret it in their own way. However, this piece can be seen as a reflection of the complex and layered journey toward justice. The vertical flow, especially the white streak, symbolizes how justice slowly makes its way to those in need, emphasizing the barriers that often stand in its path.

Ultimately, this painting captures the persistent effort of light and hope working to break through the darkness, offering a sense of resilience and progress in the face of struggle.

Every care has been taken to show the artwork as accurately as possible with regard to size and colour. The image you see on line may show a difference due to variation between browsers, devices and screen settings.
