My Studio Doors Are Open

YOU’RE INVITED TO MY OPEN STUDIO

Hot on the heels of our recent joint exhibition, I’m delighted to invite you to my Open Studio event — it’s all happening at once!

This will be my fourth year participating in the Dardanup Art Spectacular & Trail, and it’s truly one of my favourite events. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming as visitors make their way down our country lane, park in the paddock, and are greeted by Honey, our border kelpie, who takes her concierge duties very seriously. You’re invited to take your time — wander, chat, and linger awhile before heading off to the next artist’s venue.

Artists will be scattered throughout the beautiful Ferguson Valley, beginning in the charming township of Dardanup. Be sure to visit Dardanup Hall, where you’ll find the major exhibition featuring paintings, sculpture, photography, and work from local students. This year’s theme — Reverse Ekphrasis — challenges artists and photographers to create work inspired by a poem, song, or written piece, promising a fascinating and diverse collection.

If you haven’t visited before, my studio overlooks a peaceful dam, complete with a jetty and a lush fringe of reeds — a setting I never tire of. I’m also thrilled that my daughter Shae, of Shae’s Clay, will be exhibiting alongside me with her beautifully distinctive ceramics. She has just launched an exciting new venture in Perth — the Perth Artists’ Collective, an art and craft retail space — and I’m sure she’ll be happy to tell you all about it.

There may even be some of my artist friends painting en plein air on the property during the weekend, adding to the creative atmosphere.

All of the work I’ll be showing is new, created since my last studio opening. My practice continues to evolve as I push its boundaries, and I’d love to hear if you notice any shifts or changes. There will be a range of acrylic and mixed media paintings, from larger pieces to smaller 30 x 30 cm works. I’ve also been painting with a local plein air group, so you’ll find a selection of oil studies, along with framed studies connected to larger works. A range of my original printed cards will also be available.

I truly look forward to welcoming you — whether you’re returning for your annual visit or discovering my studio for the first time.

Open Studio Dates:

Diana Neggo Artist

Diana Neggo – Artist Bio

I was born in Perth, Western Australia, and now live and work in the scenic Ferguson Valley. My practice revolves around acrylics, oils, charcoal, collage, oil sticks on canvas and board. I am best known for my loose abstract and semi-abstract compositions, where free mark-making and layered textures create an emotional connection with the viewer.

Inspired by the natural world, I focus on seascapes and landscapes that capture fleeting moments of beauty and insight. My work is grounded in gestural abstraction—intuitive, expressive, and open-ended—offering viewers a space to reflect and construct their own narratives
