Exhibition Prep: Stronger Together

No one really tells you just how much work goes into mounting your own exhibition. Even with two fellow artists, Catherine Meads and Heather Elliott-Smith, to share the load, the to-do lists are… eye-watering.

There’s social media promotion, designing flyers and invitations, photographing works, planning layouts, organising plinths, meetings with the gallery owner, catering, didactics, labels — and then the very important question: what on earth do we wear?

With just over two weeks to go before we start installing, things are definitely heating up, so this will be a short missive.

We’ve now made our final (and lucky last!) change of venue, and we couldn’t be more excited. The space is gorgeous — proper gallery lighting and hanging systems, clean white walls, and plenty of passing foot traffic. Even better, it overlooks the stunning Koombana Bay in Bunbury, and I’m already imagining the perfect summer’s evening for our opening on February 6.

I’ll get back to planning now, but I wanted to share that we’re well and truly on track — and so excited to finally share the fruits of a year and a half of hard work and collaboration.

If you’re in the area, please drop in.
Stronger Together will be open February 6–19, with artists’ talks planned (times to be advised).

Hope to see you there.

Diana Neggo Artist

Diana Neggo – Artist Bio

I was born in Perth, Western Australia, and now live and work in the scenic Ferguson Valley. My practice revolves around acrylics, oils, charcoal, collage, oil sticks on canvas and board. I am best known for my loose abstract and semi-abstract compositions, where free mark-making and layered textures create an emotional connection with the viewer.

Inspired by the natural world, I focus on seascapes and landscapes that capture fleeting moments of beauty and insight. My work is grounded in gestural abstraction—intuitive, expressive, and open-ended—offering viewers a space to reflect and construct their own narratives
